Love, Hope & Freedom | £12k to UK Charity Unseen
In May we were incredibly proud to launch our Love, Hope & Freedom Collection in collaboration with Falmouth University and UK charity Unseen. We're so delighted to have raised over £12,000 for this incredible charity, which is a lifeline to so many.
Unseen is a UK based anti-slavery charity that provides safe houses and support in the community for survivors of trafficking and modern slavery, giving a lifeline for those trapped in slavery and exploitation.
Our Love, Hope & Freedom Collection showcases a trio of scented tin candles in our bestselling fragrances each featuring a beautifully designed label created by a third-year BA (Hons) Illustration student from Falmouth University. With their minimal and elegant illustrations, these tins perfectly encapsulate the theme and charity connection in a fun and vibrant way.
For every candle sold from this special collection, we pledged to donate £1 to Unseen in support of the inspiring work that they do to eradicate modern slavery and help those whose lives are affected. We are so proud to be working in partnership with Unseen towards a world without slavery and an end to child exploitation.
We made our donation last week and we are so delighted to share that we donated an incredible £6,251!
PLUS, as we donated during 'The Big Give' week, this was match funded and DOUBLED to £12,502!
We would like to say a huge thank you to the staff and students at Falmouth University and everyone at Unseen for collaborating with us on this special collection, and to all of our customers who have helped us to raise money for this special charity.
"It was a real pleasure to work alongside you on this project; from the initial inception, being involved in the design choice, and supporting the sales process. It has been lovely to show other supporters the actual candles to demonstrate the partnership we’ve had with St. Eval."
With the money that you’ve helped us raise, we can support Unseen in transforming the lives of those most vulnerable. Every penny counts. Here are just some of the ways this money will help:
- £13 could provide a week’s worth of warm nourishing food to a safehouse resident
- £19 could pay for a career session to help a survivor develop confidence and become job-ready
- £26 could pay for phone calls home to loved ones, letting them know they’re safe
- £40 could pay for a specialist trauma counselling session
- £50 could train a frontline professional to spot a potential victim of slavery and provide crucial support
- £95 could pay for a photography workshop for 5 survivors, building self-esteem and providing escapism
