Candle Care Tips: Keeping Your Flames Bright & Safe
Candles are a delightful addition to our homes, providing a silent luxury that enchants our senses and sparks moments of joy.To help you enjoy your favourite St. Eval candles to the fullest, we have put together some candle care tips to ensure that you get the most out of your candles and enjoy the best possible experience.
Candles are a wonderful way to bring warmth and a cosy atmosphere into your home, but getting the most out of them requires a bit of know-how. Whether it’s how to burn them correctly or how to store them so they last longer, these simple tricks will help you enjoy their lovely glow and scent for as long as possible.
Let’s dive into the world of candle care and make every moment by candlelight even more special.
Trim the Wick
-
It's important to prepare your candle properly before lighting to achieve a clean and even burn. We recommend trimming the wick to around 10mm in length. This helps prevent too much smoke and soot from building up, which can cause the candle to burn unevenly and not last as long. By doing this, you'll be able to extend the life of your favourite St. Eval candle and make it last even longer.
-
Burn in Sessions
-
For the best results, we recommend letting it burn for 3-4 hours each time. By doing this, the wax will melt evenly and prevent tunnelling. Tunnelling is when the candle burns down the centre, leaving a rim of wax around the edge.
By creating an even wax pool, you'll experience a stronger and more consistent fragrance throw throughout the entire burn, creating a longer-lasting magical experience.
-
Keep it Clean
-
To make sure your candles burn evenly and safely, it's important to keep the wax pool clean. That means removing any debris like wick trimmings, dust, or matches that may have fallen in. Be sure to clear away any waste regularly to keep your candles burning beautifully to create the revitalising sensations in your abode.
-
Mind the Environment
-
It's so important to be safe with your candles. To prevent any accidents, always make sure to place them on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, children, and pets. Please don't forget to never leave a candle unattended.
-
Store Safely
-
When you're not using your cherished St. Eval candles, it's best to keep them in a cool and dry place that's away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This will help to prevent the wax from getting too hot and melting or losing its colour and scent. Plus, it'll keep your candles looking and smelling fresh for longer.
Find a cosy spot for your candles to hang out when they're not being used, and they'll be ready to light up your day for a little treat of silent luxury.
-
Extinguish with Care
-
When it's time to put out your candle, try using a gentle method like a candle snuffer or a light blow to extinguish the flame. Blowing out the candle can result in wax splattering, so it's good to avoid that. Once extinguished, wait until the wax has cooled and solidified before moving or relighting the candle.
