Plastic Free July

Plastic Free July

Today marks the start of Plastic Free July, an initiative of the Plastic Free Foundation working towards their incredible vision of a world free of plastic waste.

Inspired by nature and our beautiful surroundings here in Cornwall, we are passionate about reducing our plastic consumption. We're so proud to have our efforts recognised by Surfers Against Sewage who awarded us Plastic Free Champions status in our local community.

Plastic packaging in the UK accounts for nearly 70% of our plastic waste*. When you choose to make a purchase, we encourage you to support businesses like ours that prioritise recyclable packaging. Seek out materials made from paper, explore biodegradable alternatives, or even consider compostable packaging. By supporting eco-conscious companies, you actively contribute to the growing demand for sustainable practices.

This month, join us and take part by incorporating a few easy plastic-free acts into your daily life.

Small changes that make a big difference

Incorporating small, meaningful changes into our daily lives is one of the first and most important steps that we can make to drive change and protect our planet from the effects of plastic. There are so many simple changes that we can make to reduce our plastic waste and help to protect our wonderful planet:

  • Shop mindfully, avoiding single-use plastics in products and packaging
  • Switch to reusable cups and cutlery when you're out and about
  • Buy your food produce loose or in bulk
  • Switch to non-plastic or reusable decorations when celebrating events

We hope that you're inspired this Plastic Free July to get involved and help work towards a future free of plastic waste, and we would love to hear about any other tips you have for reducing plastic usage. Share with us via socials @stevalcandles, or via email to marketing@st-eval.com.
